Fri 22 Nov 2013 - Suellen's at Sandy Point

Viv & Gray had to leave for a conference at 7.30am and so Rodger and I decided to leave early too, as it's about a 3 hour drive to Suellen's and she's having the afternoon off work, so we wanted to get there by lunchtime. Once out of Melbourne it was a very pretty drive, through gentle green hills with lots of cows.

We reached Foster, where Suellen works, at 10.30am and had a look around before calling for her. She had one more meeting, so gave us the keys to the house she's renting at Sandy Point. On the way there, an echidna ran across the road in front of us.

The house is in a lovely spot, looking out over the hills and an inlet of the sea. Suellen soon joined us and after lunch, we went down to see the beach and drove to a couple of places nearby, where we were fortunate to see a koala in a tree.

We came back home for a drink with cheese and biscuits, then it was off back to the beach, to see it at sunset. It was very beautiful, with the clouds reflected in the wet sand. We enjoyed looking at sea creatures and perfect shells. No more koalas – we were out of luck trying to spot them.

When we came back, we were starving and glad there was a spaghetti bolognaise waiting for us.  It was so nice to have the opportunity to catch up with Suellen, as we haven't seen her since our wedding.
