Sunday 14 July 2013 – Arkaroola fixing the car

Sunday was a quiet day so we were able to do some of the jobs on the car like installing driving lights and fixing bug and spinifex gauze across the front grill air intakes to protect the radiator.  Mel read and helped with crimping wire connections.  Trying to tap into the right high-beam wire on the VW was fun and games, and I was pleased to have the help of one of the guys who had a test lamp and a gas soldering iron to make the right connections.  It all works really well!

The bush flowers are beautiful

Another night bush camping by the creek, using up the last of our gathered firewood and gazing at the stars.  The sky is just amazing up here with such clear skies.   The Arkaroola Sanctuary has its own observatory and runs nightly talks with a power point show on astronomy.
