Wednesday 3 July - Leaving Home

Wednesday 3 July

Final pack up of house and very grateful to our friends Nikki and Ali for coming over to say goodbye and who helped with the final clean up.  Meant to leave at noon but finally off at 3pm.  All our stuff all over the VW to be sorted out later.  Mel stayed to do final check and drove our Honda Jazz over to my son Andrew's place so Bassema & Andrew can use it while we're away.

I head off to GME so the techos can check out my newly self-installed CB radio - did I stuff up the install?  Tony the techo checked it out - all Ok my problem that I didn't hold down the power button on the speaker control for 3-4 seconds!  Boy did I feel like a dill.  Tony was very helpful by checking my soldering of the CB ariel connections which proved to be ok.  On to Andrew & Bass' place to say goodbye to them and our grandchildren David Thomas and Joshua, then off to Bathurst.

Wendy's cousins, Meryl & Elizabeth, gave us a warm welcome  and a lovely baked dinner when we arrived at 8:30pm.  We were very grateful to be able to stay with them overnight.
