Tues 17 Sept 2013 – Cleaning up in Broome

We have such a shady camp spot that we were able to sleep in until 8.00am. First we drove into town as we needed to replenish our food supplies, get a few camping necessities and a machine head for Rodger's guitar. We also had a bit of a look around while we were there. After this we rewarded ourselves with a swim at Cable Beach, it was so good to be in the sea again!

We made sure we were back by 2.45pm, so that we could talk to Jem and Tim and see Harry & Bert on Skype. Next we talked to Andrew & Bass, David & Thomas and saw Josh. It was great to hear about David's birthday party. We were also able to have a chat with Rodger's Mum - Skype is such a great invention.

The other job we were able to do today was to wash everything as after 15 days of dust it was all filthy. What a treat to have access to washing machines again!

While we were shopping we bought some Threadpin salmon, a local fish, and ate it for tea tonight. It was very good so Rodger will have a try at catching some in the next few days .We've decided to stay in Broome for a week as there’s a lot to see here and we need to sort ourselves out before the next leg of our trip.
