Tues 1 Oct 2013 – Snorkling on Ningaloo Reef

We had a sleep in this morning as it was too windy to do anything. Rodger ventured out to go fishing mid-morning but soon came back and we went to one of the best places to snorkel - Turquoise Bay. It was fun as you get in one end and then the current takes you over the reef and back to the middle, where you climb out and do the whole thing again. A lot of the coral was dead, but there were lots of beautiful fish and some very big ones too. We did the circuit 3 times and then came out as the water's still quite cold, being early in the season.

We went to the new Visitor's Centre and called in to look at all the beaches on the way back. We definitely like our camping spot better than all the others we saw. We have extended our stay by 3 nights.

By the time we got back to our camping ground, we were ready for another swim. We had a cold drink while Rodger practised the guitar and then he went off to try his luck at fishing again – not a bite!
