Wed 2 Oct 2013 - Snorkelling at Turquoise Bay Lakeside and Emus

Having had no luck at fishing last night, Rodger tried again early this morning, while I slept in, but still nothing. We went back to Turquoise Bay for another snorkel and tried both ends of the beach. There seemed to be many more fish than yesterday, maybe because it was nearly high tide today. We saw an enormous, colourful fellow with huge lips and thousands of the little turquoise neon fish all around us. There's such a huge variety of fish here and all just 3 or 4 m from the shore and so accessible.

We also checked out another snorkelling beach called Lakeside. This was also good but not such variety as at Turquoise Bay. On the way home we called at the bore water tap to top up our supply and found it already occupied by a crowd of emus. They graciously allowed us to fill our bottles and, in return, we made sure we left them a puddle to drink from.

Our next call was the lighthouse, so we could use the Internet, no whales about today.
