When we woke up this morning, we were surprised
to find that it was overcast and raining lightly in the wind. This threw out
our whole routine, what should we do with our damp towels and newly washed
undies, when we came back after our shower?! It was the first time we've
had to think about this as we haven't had any rain yet.
Our first visit was to an Op Shop, as we wanted
to change my books and donate some shoes. It was hard to find, but well worth
the search. We got books, a knife and fork, a plastic box for fishing complete
with sinkers and lures and, the piece de resistance, a folding fishing chair/
backpack! Rodger was very pleased with this and it was only $10.
We set of for Cervantes, and Lake Thetis, where
there are more stromatolites. There wasn't such a good collection as at Hamlin
Pool but we took some pictures for Andrew to use at school

Next we went to Nambung National Park, where
the Pinnacles are. They were absolutely amazing, all these columns of limestone
sticking up out of the sand of a desert, which seems to appear out of nowhere.
There are heaps of them, there is a 4 km loop drive to look at them and nobody
really knows how they were formed.
There's an interesting "Interactive
Centre" there to tell the theories of how they might have formed and the
animal life around them.
When we finished there, we came back to
Cervantes to the caravan park, as they have Internet access and we wanted to
Skype the family. We were lucky and spoke to Jem, Tim and Amy and saw the
babies. We spoke to Bass and the boys and Rodger's Mum.

The sky had cleared by now and the sun was
shining again, so we went for a walk on the beach but Rodger, of course, was
dying to go fishing and try out his new fishing backpack chair, so off he went, looking like a
real fisherman. The Chair made him so comfortable, he didn't come back for 3 hours!

He
caught a pink snapper and a yellow fin bream but both were too small and had
to be thrown back, so it was lucky that, while he was away, I made rissoles for
dinner.
