Set the alarm and up at 6am to go fishing. Unfortunately, only one decent snooty this
morning but lots of disturbance quite near me with lots of thrashing in the
water which I assumed was a croc. So I
pulled in my line and got ready to jump out of the boat and up the bank, when I
realise that it was just the sharks having a feeding frenzy on a school of
fish.
Perry’s is a tropical haven for fishing
enthusiasts, a little bit eccentric but very shady with lots of palms and mango
trees and a welcome pool. The March
flies were fearsome though. We only had
to share the place with Fred and one other camper so we had lots of space and
privacy. If you like fishing and need a
tropical haven, it’s up for sale for $1.8 mill.
After another swim in the pool and we set off
for Katherine, which is the gateway to the West and the Bungles. Arrived in Katherine in time to post off the
tax and birthday cards to Eliana and David (our grandchildren) before the PO
closed for the weekend and pick up some supplies, especially mozzie coils!
Arrived at Springvale Homestead to camp the night. It was the first homestead established in the area and Katherine grew from it.
Cheap camping but boisterous crowd in the camp kitchen so off to bed rather late tonight!
