Sat 3 Aug 2013 – Alice to Devil’s Marbles

Packed up, loaded up with water, gas , diesel, extra food and Rodger even washed the car as they has a wash bay at the caravan park.  Boy did it need it – at least we are on bitumen for a while so it was worth the effort.

Long drive up North past the Anmatjere Man outside of the Aileron Roadhouse.

They are a bit way out up here in the Territory – Wycliffe Well is famous for UFO sightings.

Arrived at the Devil’s Marbles just before sunset – a perfect time to admire these amazing rock formations.  Lovely sparse campground right next to the Marbles – we are camped about 10 metres away!

We were caught out here as it was the first time that there were wood bbqs rather than gas so we had to scrummage for wood as there were hardly any trees and those that we found were burnt from a previous fire – we just managed enough scrap timber to cook our meal!
