Thurs 8 Aug 2013 – Swim, Katherine to Edith Falls

Enjoyed another swim before breakfast in the amazing resort pool, then drove into Katherine for some top up groceries.  Rodger went to the Dr to get a sore checked out in case it was a skin cancer – all clear thank God.

Today was an easy day travelling as it was only 70 klms up the road – but we had been warned that as the place was very popular so if you want a camping spot – get there before noon, which we did.

The first people we saw was our friends Annabella and Claudio in a great camping spot and they invited us to share it with them.

What a beautiful spot- no wonder everyone loves this place.  As it was still early we climbed to the upper pools which were just great with a full waterfall gushing so much that we couldn’t get near enough to touch it.  Water was so lovely and cool after our climb in the middle of the day with air temp approx 35 degrees.

Had a picnic lunch by the falls then made our way down to the camping area and the large lower pool for another swim.

Had a relaxing hour playing harp and guitar and when Annabella and Claudio returned we sang then Le Lega as they are Italian.  They had never heard the song before but laughed in the right places – so we must have got most of the words right!
