We needed to get some supplies before we left
Darwin, so first call was the Parap Markets, where we got fruit & veg.
Next stop was Woolworths and then the Fish
Market for some more barramundi.
We also had to make our usual stop at a bolt
supplier - neither of us had ever been to one before this trip, but we've
visited them all major towns now, as the shaking on the corrugated roads pushes
the bolts out faster than we can replace them!
We finally left Darwin at 2.30pm and drove down
to Litchfield. Just before the National Park, we found a lovely little camping
ground called Pandanus. It is in a mango orchard (sadly too early in the season
for fruit) and friendly and comfortable. It also has a small pool which we were
quick to make use of!
We enjoyed having a huge camp kitchen, with a
fan, to sit in and, as there is Internet cover, we were able to Skype Tim &
Amy.
As we were getting ready for bed we had a
lovely surprise when a little green tree frog popped his head out of the toilet
cistern. When we took the lid off he
jumped into Rodger’s hand and didn’t want to leave – nice to have a green buddy
for a while – he’s now enjoying the garden!
